Cryptoblepharus pulcher, the Eastern fence skink

Richmond NSW Australia

The Eastern fence skink is also known as a Snake-eyed skink. Cryptoblepharus means literally- hidden eyelid, and this is on account
of the eyelid being transparent, completely covering the eye with a scale, similar to that possessed by snakes. These small and
common lizards have adapted well to a suburban existance, living amongst brickwork through most of Sydney's suburbs.
