Protest

This protest has been camped on the pavement opposite the House of Commons since the beginning of the Iraq war. All through the winter they continued to camp out and in the morning on my way to work I often see them doing stretching exercises behind their camp on the grass of Westminster Square. I have to admire their commitment to something they believe in - the first sign of bad weather and I'd be packing up.

I saw them when I was in London last summer. Good shot - in many ways.

Nice capture. You did well to avoid your shadow :-)

ONe has to wonder how they make their living, even as one can admire their commitment and fortitude!

my school is near the China Embassy and everyday for the past for years, there are been a group of people, at least 4-5 that protest the Chinese government for their religous beliefs. These people stay there no matter the conditions, sometimes -21 and snowing storm, they will not leave, its really quite incredible the amount of commitment this group has.

Wow, almost like the people camping out for Star Wars that I saw today.
Well, not really.

Good journalistic photo. I particularly like the gas pump similie of a gun to the head. Interesting shot.

true, i'd have to admire their persistence. i can't help but wonder how effective their efforts are. with this going on day after day... eventually, people start taking all this as the norm and the impact of their efforts is simply lost... i.e. it loses its novelty and people cease to pay it any attention.

do they pay anyone rent for being there?
I like your photo and the journalistic interest!

A nice day you have today? Your pic is colourful. I see Falun Gong members meditating on the sidewalk - rain or snow - here in Vancouver all the time.

haven't they all got homes to go to? :-o

I can see that they have very strong views, but also consider that they ought to be giving some freshness to their campaign. Just like advertising really. Its a bit of a turn off for me.
