Management

I've been working for a good few years now and I spent 7 of those years as an Management Consultant so I think I know a reasonable amount about management... staff management, management of resources etc. But.... there's a new management that's reared its ugly head and I'm scared.... really scared. COLOUR MANAGEMENT!

I took a photo of my nephew. It looks great on screen AND it prints great on my home printer, but I wanted a larger print to frame for my brother so I uploaded it to photobox and it said that it was 'high quality' but what I got back was just plain dreadful. It can't be photobox because so many other people have recommended them so I've concluded that I have to learn about colour management - I'm scared because I don't want to mess up the fact that the prints at home are good. Anyway if you want to see for yourself CLICK HERE.
I've got a pile of photoshop books beside me and a strong cup of coffee.

Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel

Magnificent abstract. Could make a very nice picture on the wall.

Wish I could help, but I think color management takes a rocket scientist. I ain't one. Good luck!

I wanted to say very cool, but then I thought that others have probably said that, which they did, so I'm kinda lost for words right now

Nice abstract - floating colours. Don't know whether this is any help but I've noticed that my prints from Photobox are always darker than those printed on my Epson. In most cases this is okay, but the odd one looks too saturated.

Like the colours in this pic. Good luck with the colour management, I tried to figure it out but I lost the will to live! If you crack it will you let us know in less than 20 words !

Neat photo, Gail. And I know what you mean about colour management ... when you figure it out, will you be so kind as to explain it to me?
