Water willow (Decodon verticillatus)

Decodon arrived in the Amphibian Pond a few years ago and is doing well, even spreading. This native plant has a habit of forming thick stands once it gets established. If you look closely, you can see a syrphid (hover fly) heading toward a flower and a bumblebee busy in another one.
