In each of the sky rise building, there are 6 elevators. Only three are working at business hours. An operator is assigned during the operating hours, 6am ~ 12am. Her job is a combination of running the elevator, community watch (she knows everyone in the building), delivering subscribed newspapers, milk, and soymilk. If you arrive home off of business hours, you are out of luck, like I did once when I had to climb 23 stories of stairs.
