So that civic workers will keep warm, Notner only removes snow and ice in the summer months. The city does recommend as winter exercise that citizens enjoy watching cars on the ice as they cannonball off each other going down the street
Notner must understand that over-clearing roads in winter removes the protective coating nature provides against the cold. In Rhode Island this road would be considered perfectly treated: unsightly white snow has been removed to reveal the imperceptible, polished protective layer beneath. The intermittent coasting that results saves gas and keeps Notner garbage men working.
I love cold weather, and snow, and ice. As long as it is not here (England).
We very rarely get snow.
Keep posting the lovely pictures to remind me how lucky I am.
