Nikon survives 300 ft fall

Nikon's 70-200mm 2.8G VR lens hood survives 300 ft fall.

Yes it's true. The lens hood of 70-200mm VR easily falls off when parked in reverse position. In this case the hood dropped off whilst climbing to the right of image-left.

If anyone knows how to stop this problem please let me know.

It doesn't look like it fell 300 feet, but more like it fell a short distance, then rolled to a point 300 feet downhill from where it fell. I seriously doubt the Nikon lens hood, or any lens hood could survive a 300 foot fall.

My Sigma hood didn's survive a 2ft fall but I think
my son standing on it didn't help :(

Nikon is a good stock.
