Twice a year the girl is offered a new dress by the fashion department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht. From 1920 two brown bears have been kept in the pit. In 1993, the last bear, Jo, was relocated to the Bear Forest in Ouwehand Zoo to spend his retirement in peace.
