Flight

Southern Vancouver Island

Nothing else sounds quite like the beating of a trumpeter swan's wings and the whoosh of a number of
them landing or taking-off is something you will never forget. Watching them manoeuvre their huge
bodies through these actions can be an amazingly graceful sight or a bit of comic relief, again
something you will never forget. Trumpeter Swan facts: Every year adult swans go through a flightless
period in which they molt all their feathers at once thus making them flightless for a 1-2 month
period of time. This typically occurs during the warmest months, namely July and August. ~ National
Park Service

From this angle, they look like flying lard balls! I love watching swans in flight and taking off from water is a riot! Nice composition.
