For solar observers, this sunspot group known as 1024 was a welcome sight after a longer than usual solar minimum. Read more about this sunspot at Spaceweather.com. This photo is a stack of 56 images, taken with a Questar 3.5 Duplex, a Nikon D80 and a 1.4x teleconverter for an effective focal length of 1820mm at f/20. The exposure was 1/320 of a second at ISO 800. This is only a small part of the full frame. The images were aligned, stacked and processed in Registax and Adobe Photoshop CS3.
