View from Hundsheimer Berg to Lake Neusiedl. In this plain in eastern Austria, several hundreds (!) of these wind power plants have been built. One may not be happy with their optical appearance, but as far as energy production is concerned, they are very efficient. They contribute a lot to the fact that Burgenland, Austria's easternmost provice, has become the first "energy self-sufficient" region in Europe, i.e. all the energy used in there is produced locally from renewable sources.
