3/28/08 - B&W Tulip

The "after" of a before/after B&W conversion experiment. Here's the before - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/94808144 If you compare the two images you'll see that the tonal contrast is more apparent in the B&W version - check the petals like the one extending to the right.
I'm gaining a further appreciation for the attraction that B&W photography holds for many people. At least in this example, the B&W "shows" the image better; details and subtlety are lost/masked by the saturated reds in the color version - the color is more of an "in your face" view.
Did I mention that I prefer the B&W?
