9/7/06 - Pine & Birch Bark

I'm sticking with the montages and multiple exposures for a while. I'm doing a talk in December on Photography as Art and need to build up a portfolio of some images that are different from straight photographs (although there will be plenty of straight work, as well).

This PAD is 1) an image of a lone pine in the snow at Big Meadow in Shenandoah National Park which is 2) overlaid with a macro of some peeling white birch bark. I like the "torn page" look. I had originally chosen - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/66431004 - for today's PAD (same bark but flipped and a different tree but still with snow). My wife preferred the pine version, so we went with that. Anyone care to voice their preference?
