7/28/05 - Monarch & Milkweed

I got another butterfly today that appeals to me more than this one "artistically" - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/46862607
But this monarch is so close with so much detail that I decide to share it instead. Check out the rolled up probiscus.
And how about a white tailed deer grazing right at my feet. http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/46862604 The mountains are great (all of these shots are from Shendandoah National Park - plus http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/46862516 - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/46862605 & http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/46862606 where I almost got lost in the fog.)

Nikon D70
1/100s f/10.0 at 300.0mm full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Great details. The pattern of the wing is striking.

Great group of shots. Love the detail on this one. The full butterfly shot is lovely too. You must have tossed a coin to choose which to use as your main pad.

I was interested to see what setting you used. That is a great photo, plenty of detail and sharp.

Well done.
