6/2/04 - Can you spell DOF?

A blade of a cat of nine tail. About 1" (2.54cm) across. Covered with a very fine morning dew. Shot at f3.8 (0.008 sec) from a distance of about 18" (slightly less than 1/2 m).

The DOF with this lens is paper thin. Makes camera positioning & focusing for 1:1 close-ups challenging.

An image like this is a good example when trying to explain DOF.

other sizes: small medium original auto
