Whitby Abbey

Whitby, North Yorkshire

The abbey dates back to the 7th Century when Oswy, King of Northumbria, sent a Northumbrian princess named Hilda to Whitby to found an abbey.

I've been away for a week without an internet connection. Thanks to everyone who has provided comments or votes during the last week, I will catch up with comments in the next few days.

This was on our 'wish list' when we visited UK in March this year but just not enough time.... hopfully next trip. Love the sky :)
