Opiliones (Harvestmen)

Liberty County, Florida

Opiliones (Harvestmen) Torreya State Park, August 15, 2010.
These eight legged creatures are more closely related to mites and ticks than to spiders. Legend has it, these are extremely venomous but cannot bite us because of very small fangs. The truth is they have no venom glands at all. Go figure!
