Female Trapdoor Spider (Myrmekiaphila sp.) found on a steep sphagnum covered small cliff in Gadsden County, Florida next to a small pond. Three species of Myrmekiaphila spiders overlap this area according to a paper published in December of 2007 (A Taxonomic Review of the Trapdoor Spider Genus Myrmekiaphila (Araneae, Mygalomorphae, Cyrtaucheniidae) by Jason E. Bond and Norman I. Platnick). They are: Myrmekiaphila coreyi, Myrmekiaphila torreya and Myrmekiaphila minuta.
