1978 R100/7 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER

--APPLY JB WELD HERE. USE A NEEDLE OR PIN TO APPLY.
THIS IS TO ADHERE THE GEAR TO THE GEAR DRIVE PIN

NOTE:
A QUICK SETTING EPOXY WILL WORK OR TRY A DROP OF SUPER GLUE
ON THE END OF A TOOTHPICK.

IF NEED BE, REMOVE GEAR DRIVE PIN AND THROUGHLY DEGREASE/CLEAN WITH
A PLASTIC-SAFE CLEANER, THEN ROUGHEN THE METAL TO HELP GLUE TO ADHERE.

ALSO, BEFORE GLUEING, BE SURE GEARS ARE IN CORRECT ALIGNMENT AND DO NOT BIND.
YOU CAN USE MASKING TAPE TO HELP HOLD THE ODOMETER NUMBER DIALS IN PLACE.

AFTER COMPLETE CURING, MANUALLY WORK THE ODOMETER TO CHECK FOR SMOOTH OPERATION.
IF NEED BE, USE A
RAZOR BLADE TO CUT THRU CURED GLUE, REMOVE DEBRIS AND START OVER.

**ALSO, WITH THE TRIPMETER REMOVED, YOU MAY WANT TO DO A THROUGH CLEANING.
- SPRAY THE TRIPMETER THROUGH OUT WITH WD-40 TO HELP REMOVE OIL/DUST/PARTICULATES THAT COULD JAM
GEARS.

- RINSE UNDER THE FAUCET WITH WARM WATER FOR A MINUTE.
- POUR ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL OVER TRIPMETER TO DEGREASE AND TO DISPLACE WATER.
- AFTER DRYING, USE A BIT OF SILICONE SPRAY ON TRIPMETER BEFORE REINSTALLING.
