This shot was also taken at a shutterspeed of 1/1000th of a second, using 2 300 WS studio strobes. Notice that the wings are completely blurred, suggesting that they traveled through their entire arc during the brief time the shutter was open. You'd THINK 1/1000th of a second would be fast enough to freeze almost any motion, but in this case it didn't even come close!
I don't like this shot technically or aesthetically as much as some of the others, but it's a dramatic illustration.
