Actually these playgrounds are very common in Ankara. There are bunch of them in every neighborhood (mahalle). Even 25-30 years ago when I was a kid, we would go and fly towards the blue sky on the swings. Back then they were all made of hard colorless iron and it would hurt a lot if you bumped into one of them. :). Nowadays they are made from some kind of hard colorful plastic.
