Istanbul Arch Museum dec 2016 0780.jpg

Front face of a sarcophagus. From Çemberlitaş, 3rd century AD. Inv. 4252 T.
Four bas-reliefs depict: a mounted rider, a funeral feast, a male standing and finally a man an child. The first two have legends that refer to two people, Rufus and Peison from Calchedon (now Kadıköy). And the fourth refers to one of the deceased being 14 years of age, another four years. Two sailing ships may be related to subjects.
