My first Red Ryder was taller than I was. I got a new one every Xmas for years.
My last one was a pump. The 1000 shot lever action was the best. I wore out all of them. Miami had a lot of vacant fields in the 40's & 50's to shoot in. My wife surprised me with a new one for Xmas 2008 for old times sake.

After a little research I found that it was a Model 21 side by side. Not very popular because of the price. It also was not very durable, so the survivors are very rare.

I really don't know. But I bet another of our fine readers does.

Note to Robert Bowman: I'm familiar with the lever action and pump models, but what is the uppermost model in the brochure for $5 that looks like a shotgun?

I really did get one for Christmas one year, I was so excited.
And no I didn't put my eye out.
