I belive this is a Maytag. It was to Maytag what the Model T was to Ford. Suprisingly, it was made until the 1983.

We had one of these in our kitchen in NY; before we moved to Florida in the early 50's. Then we had a Bendix front loader that came with the house.

Gosh I am so glad I wasn't the only one to get their arm caught in that contraption!! But those were the good old days huh?

Wow, does that bring me back. Brings back memories of the tiny apartment we lived in. No running hot water. The stove provided all the hot water...and heat.

Caught my right arm in that monster and could not reach the release mechanism with my left hand. Lucky my mom heard me yelling and got to me just in time, and lucky my arm was so skinny. Bill Smith
