Lad, thank you for your nice tribute to your dad on this page. I'm sorry for your great loss and I hope the passing of time will ease your pain. Rest In Peace Ladislao Edward Mandiola!

Ladislao Edward Mandiola came to this country (from Santiago, Chile) with less than one dollar in pants pocket. He busted his butt with his own two hands and nobody gave him anything that he didn't work for. He started as a pot washer, went to culinary school and became a culinary master chef, worked for the Sonesta Hotel for some years, then took a Manager's position at the Red Coach Grill (on Collins Ave) between the years of 1972-1980. During that time he eventually became the General Manager of that restaurant. Overworked and underpaid (as most managers are), he was one of the most dedicated Managers that I've ever known, I should know, he was my father. He just passed away April 2, 2016 at the age of 76. I love you dad and you'll be missed deeply by all that knew you… :-)

Yes George, on the east side of Biscayne Boulevard just south of the wonderful Jordan Marsh department store.

Wasn't there a Red Coach Grill on Biscayne Blvd near downtown?

It became a Tony Roma's later on, then was torn down to make way for the new Sunny Isles City Hall (with adjacent new Tomy Roma's).
