Thank you to Tim Vinzant for sending me an image of an old Flamingo Way road sign that he still has. Tim's father-in-law was Dr. Jack Roy whose office was next to the Dairy Queen on E. 4th Avenue (Flamingo Way) and 41st/42nd Street for many years. Dr. Roy lived with Tim and his wife for the last ten years of his life and he passed away in 2013, three weeks shy of turning 99 years old. Tim says he was a real cool guy and that he is missed by many. Unfortunately Tim is friends with the infamous Ken Moye who grew up in the Palm Springs Estates section of Hialeah and was in Hialeah High's Class of 1966. I think Ken's greatest achievement in life was marrying Janet Andrews, also in the HHS Class of 1966, 49 years ago in 1966. : )
