1952 SUS of Florida

1952 - unknown just east of NW 27th Avenue north of 135th Street, Miami

NW 27th Avenue and 140th Street, Miami

This is a weird one and probably not an airport due to being in the flight path of Opa-locka Airport just to the west. It is located just below where State Road 9 curves to the northeast. SR9 looks new in this image. Does anyone know what this is? A drag strip perhaps?

other sizes: small medium original auto

I have not been able to put a name to it but, I believe it was used to pickup banners to fly over the beach. I am interested in hearing more about Mary's Airport.

In the late 50's a small airfield just East of NW 27th Ave at NW 183St. burned down as we watched. I believe the airfied was called Marv's Airport.
