Mountain Vista

We spent the afternoon in and around Mount Washington in New Hampshire. Apparently it's the tallest
peak (at 6,500 feet) east of the Mississippi which struck me as odd given that we live at 6,200 feet.
Although used to 14ers it's still beautiful countryside to enjoy.

Beautiful capture, love the comp and the clouds in the sky!

OMG! I am just reading the comments after I left my comment...my poking fun at your approval of the size of the mountains seems bad after reading this idiot "guest" comment! Nothing wrong with MOG having an opinion but WTF!? This is beautiful and I wonder how "great" their work is?

Glad you approved! It is lovely.

It is a lovely scene Dave. I like the way the clouds mirror the mountain tops, and the whole composition. I am guessing you used a polarizer to give the sky its depth of colour and bring out the clouds? Maybe the 'fake' tree is actually a telecommunications tower - who knows? It blends in well enough to me, there are thousands of varieties of tree, they make the world a more interesting place to look at.

Ahhh...what a refreshing shot. Excellent capture.

Beautiful scenery Dave, good composition and saturated colours.Love the clouds and their shadows on the mountains.
Your "Guest",MOG ( obviously a case of MOUTH OVER GUTS )has clearly demonstrated not only a complete lack of politeness but a lack of observational skills as well. That tree line is natural - observe other areas of the image to confirm!- and the sky looks good to me - who the hell likes washed out skies! If he,or she, is so full of their own self importance he should identify his work so that we can all learn from the astounding images! It must be really tough to be so perfect or perhaps it is just a case of jealousy!!

I want to live there. Nothing fake looking here.
Job well done Dave.

MOG - not sure why I'd go to the trouble of superimposing a false looking tree!! If you look at the shot there are a thousand things wrong with it, but as you haven't made the effort to point out some tips to improve it or show examples of your no doubt superior work, I won't bother expanding.
Your tactless wisdom, as always, is thoroughly appreciated.

Absolutely gorgeous scene. Rather reminiscent of the Lake District.
Guest 28-Aug-2007 03:28
What beauty! You captured amazing colors and lushness... way to go, Nikon man!!! V

The left hand tree line in the corner looks superimposed or fake (as does the color of the sky) due to artifacting, but not a bad snapshot overall. MOG
