Twisted

I know I've posted a few dragonfly pictures recently but I liked this in what turned out to be a
bit of an experiment. The storm in the background meant the light was fading, so I decided to use my
speedlight out of curiosity. Unfortunately the wind meant I didn't have a hope of getting the wings,
but I was pleased with the result anyway. I particularly enjoyed using the barbed wire to separate
the fields and the sky, but still getting (most) of the detail.
The title refers to the wire as well as everything that probably shouldn't have worked but some how did - just!!
I think I've finally caught up with yesterdays pictures, so now I can start todays!!!

Great shot Dave, I like the way the dragonfly is hanging on the barbwire like it is about to be blown away, and the way the color changes at the barb wire. ~BV~

This is excellent Dave, you have captured SO much detail in the dragonfly, more in the body than I have seen in most shots before. The barbed wire and background all worked out really well for the image too.

This is really cool. I'd say your experiments were a big success. It is a shame you couldn't get the wings, but still a super shot. I really like how you used the barbed wire to separate fields and sky.
