Come and set a spell...

I miss the good old days, when neighbors sat on porches
long into the summer's evening, drinking ice tea and saying
"Hello!" to all who passed by.

The location is wonderful. The contrasty light is especially nice. Also the toning works well.

Cool retro look. I miss those days, too. Maybe I should just move back to Kentucky.

What a cozy spot. I think air conditioning ruined the front porch sitting (except for those folks who can't afford a/c!)

I miss those days too, but in some respects thay weren't so good. The security door looks out of place: sad.

This is great, Gary. As I look at this I keep expecting Ernest Hemingway to come out of the house, wave and sit down on the porch. Very well done, especially the sepia tone.

Sittin' on the front porch on a summer afternoon
In a straightback chair on two legs, leans against the wall
Watch the kids a' playin' with June bugs on a string
And chase the glowin' fireflies when evenin' shadows fall

In my Tennessee mountain home
Life is as peaceful as a baby's sigh
In my Tennessee mountain home
Crickets sing in the fields near by

Very nice scene in sepia.
