From My Window Seat

This was taken at dusk through the double panes of glass by my
window seat on the plane. I had a polarizer filter on the
lens, which I think explains the odd colors in the sky,
although I don't know why. But this is pretty much how it
came out of the camera, no crop, no adjustments, just a little
Neat Image.

Hi, nice picture!! I've seen some of these light-shows at dusk from the flightdeck. The reflection in a large volume of air or a combination of water-reflection can do the trick. Just like a rainbow in the air, light is spread into multiple colours.
You can see a similar effect of a sunset colour-show in the air on the Spain-Denimair gallery of me.
NIce photos , I'll be back soon.

Love it. And your bevel treatment is a perfect complement.

I looked at the image and tried to determine what it was before reading the caption. I like the scale of the image.

Amazing shades of blue in this image, and your composition is superb! :)

Now this I really like. Absolute minimum. I used my polarizer through a plane window and got the same kind of rainbow effect. I forget what makes it do that.

Wow, whatever the reason this is a stunner, I don't think even you could have come up with those colors. Getting my vote too.

excellent image...
I think that is actually the bokeh of the lens, depending on how close that engine was, it may have caused the background to get thrown out. I am figureing you were pretty close because at 55mm the Frame is full top to bottom wise.

Great shot.

Excuse me sir - we do not allow photographs of aviation-related items anymore on this airline. Could you please hand over the camera? Seriously, a friend of mine was accosted by marshalls a few months ago over having taken a photo out of the window - no joke! It's come down to that.

But that said, this is a very interesting effect with the sky due to the polarizer - only thing I can think of is the window itself had polarization in it or at least filtering for UV which reacted with the circ pol filter. Very cool effect.

Beautiful capture Gary. Your seat was perfect because the angle of the image is perfect too:)
JeremyGood29-Apr-2005 06:26
That is so cool. It's comforting that the engine is there when you look out the window.
Vote.

Love the colour Gary. I like the window seat, but hate the crick in my neck the next day :>)

That mysterious blue space is very different. Nice shot.
Guest 29-Apr-2005 05:20
Awesome shot...love the color and the feel to it. The empty space works very well here.
