No reason why you can't do b/w with Sony. Just convert your image using the Greg Gorman action or the Digidaan action. (In Files section of Digipets). With either of these you have to tweak the adjustment layers to get desired results. With the Gorman action you adjust the opacity of the adjustment layer, with Digidaan you have hue/saturation palettes to move sliders.
