I loved this part

The elite runners had long gone through.
They had a police escort and camera crews.
Then came the competitive runners.
They were determined to "make time".
And then the sea of "the people" started.
They were running just as hard.
However they seemed to have fun.
Those are the best runners.
The ones who had a smile.
Sure, some also had a grimace.
But hey, they had run 10 miles so far.
And they were not even half done.
So this is a salute to the people.
The ones who knew what it was about.
