In May, 2008, I spent a weekend in Ontario, Canada visiting friends and took pictures at two scenic spots - the Scarborough Bluffs and the Toogood Pond. It was nice weather for both days after a cool and rainy week.

Primarily formed by erosion of the packed clay soil, the Scarborough Bluffs (photo #1-17) are unique and breathtaking. Thank God there was no strong wind, just breeze. No bluffing, I was standing on the steep cliff looking for the best angle.

Toogood Pond is just like an average pond in a residential area, but I happened to capture a few shots of the inhabitants there, including a Too Bad Heron - a killer on the pond. It was sneaky and very vicious. The first time when I saw it, I thought it was a statue on a rock, for it did not make the slightest move for minutes. Perhaps there was no fish nearby, it suddenly spread its wide wings and flew to another area. Then I ran in the same direction to take these shots (#28-36). Later that day when I met my friends for dinner, one of them told me it was the same kind of heron that snatched 3 of his expensive and innocent Japanese kois from the pond in his garden. It sure knew how to fly back there. I might have photographed the same murderer.
