Some people who used to associate Los Angeles only with smog and traffic jams were very surprised after viewing the images in my gallery "A glance at the angels", and now they realise this city has many points of interest for tourists.

I returned to the City of Angels to take more photos. On Sat, Nov 14, 2009, I was there for less than 24 hours - arriving after 1 a.m. and leaving before the following midnight. Early in the morning, a friend drove me to a tranquil residential area called Venice. It's much smaller than the one in Italy, and here you won't see a gondola. Yet, it has something that you won't find in Venice, Italy - the characteristic palm trees. Also the water here is much clearer. Another place I visited in the afternoon was the gigantic Huntington Library, where I just barely covered its Chinese Garden, Japanese Garden and Desert Garden. By the time I got to the rose garden, the library was about to close.

Starting from the photo # 57 are some photos I took on Jan 2, 2010, the day after the Rose Parade. Another group of friends showed me the spectacular bluff view of the Palos Verdes Peninsula and the tiny but unique "crystal church", Wayfarer's Chapel. The charming sceneries of the L.A. area continued to impress me when we reached the Pepperdine University in Malibu, which overlooks the magnificent Pacific Ocean that glittered under the smog-free beautiful blue sky.
