I'm back to cheating. This was taken earlier this year, but I decided to pull it out, tweak it, and try some alternative treatments. In this and those below, the basic image has the runners extracted from the background and either a white (100% opacity) or black (75% opacity) layer inserted below the extracted image (and above the original image). The other images include application of a number of basic Photoshop filters (nothing fancy) and alternative backgrounds.
