I was picking up equipment after a 5k race we were conducting this morning (9/11). (See http://www.pbase.com/dsteinauer/kentlands_2004) I came across a white picket fence with flowers boiling up and over the top of the fence like spaghetti sauce from a pot. So, I stopped and took several shots (which I may post later). This is just a part of one of the blossoms with a (color manipulated) section of the fence behind it. Right now, I'm not sure why I thought that made an interesting shot, but you never can account for taste, esp. mine.
I had planned on doing something else for today, but I haven't had a chance to do it, so this will have to suffice.
PS - Crop. Separate blossom from background as separate layers (very easy and quick with magic wand, due to fact that blossom was virtually the only red in the shot). Blast the background lightness and futz with contrast. Insert a layer filled with white above fence layer and adjust opacity on the former to achieve desired effect. Push the saturation a bit on the blossom. Sqoosh everything. I'll frame it later.
