Our local swan population is still pretty high for one pond. Three of the original seven (!) signets from last spring were taken by a local snapping turtle (who's on our most wanted list). Still, four have survived to sort-of adulthood. (They still have some gray in their feather, and their beaks are still gray, but they are as big or bigger than Mom and Dad. They still maintain their assigned order when traveling, as you can see from this photo. I went swan mad this afternoon when I discovered the sun was actually out; took about 300 shots.
