I look across the road to see that I am leaving that part of the road which belongs to Woodford.
I hadn't seen the corresponding east bound sign because I had taken the "Railway Parade" on the
other side of the line (if you recall). It appears that the Woodford Post Office sits at 609 metres
altitude. I reflect upon Woodford's claim of being "the heart of the mountains". When they repaint
the sign (as they are progressively doing up and down the highway) they might come up with something
a little less trite perhaps. We have descended some 456 metres since the top. I suppose it might
be argued that Woodford is sort of "halfway down" and hence the "heart of the journey"? No?
