Cyclorama Point, near Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, is the site of a massive landslide which took
place in 1931. A huge section of the escarpment simply slid down into the valley leaving this sheer
rockface. Sometimes the late afternoon light illuminates the feature almost as a theatrical
cyclorama might appear with the flood lights switched on. It becomes especially dramatic, as it was
yesterday afternoon, when the sun shone a direct shaft of light onto the cliff between banks of
heavy storm clouds.
