This rather specialized and shy complex mo11usk is found under rocks in the tidepools. Living specimens have two large eye-like spots located beneath and laterally of their real eyes. The two-spotted octopus has an ink sac that opens into the intestine near the anus. It discharges a black fluid into the water when the octopus is disturbed. The octopus feeds upon small fishes and crabs.
