Halidrys (Halidrys dioica) terminal portion

This dark-brown alga is fairly common in the lower intertidal regions. The plant has a single, very flexible stipe with flattened, fern-like, leafy blades arising basally. Rocky Shore 87

When mature, the termina1 portion produces finely branched reproductive segments with vesicles that are flattened and bead-like.
