As far as sharpness and color rendition are concerned I have found the two to be very similar. I use the 16-35 a lot more than the 17-40 because of the faster aperture.

Just wondering what your finding's are on the difference in sharpness/Color rendering between the 16-35 and 17-40? And which do you use most often?
