Xom Bo II memorial

Members of Bravo Company's 3rd Platoon bow their heads during a memorial service at Lai Khe basecamp after the Battle of Xom Bo II, which took place on 17 June '67. Third Platoon (Third Herd) lost 9 soldiers KIA in the battle and others wounded. I feel very fortunate to have been able to serve with these and other brave soldiers during my tour as a combat medic. I am thinking about them all and wishing them well on Veteran's Day, 2018.

Photo courtesy of SGT Joe Hare, one of Third Herd's finest.

That is really an excellent image considering the time and place and how old the film is by now. Were you part of the 1st Infantry Division? Or do the Red One shoulder patches stand for something else? Thanks for your service and your historical documentation. ~V~
