If you tap the brake when the cruise is engaged the magnet is deengerized and releases the throttle cable. This can also happen if you do not have the cable adjusted correctly. Travel should be 1 5/8”. If your unit disengages when you hold the “Resume/Accelerate” switch then you have the cable set too tight and the actuator can not make its full travel.
