Very nice series Matt. All three are unique in their composition and I like them all. Can't say the frames add anything for me either, although I don't find these ones terribly annoying. Nice work and welcome to this challenge :-)

All three work as a great series. Nice work, this probably being my fav. jano

I like these 3 photos a lot but i'm with Rod on the frames, i really can't see any point to them and they're nothing but a distraction to your photos which is a shame.

Cat said it. The Bee point of view, is a great idea. Another very good shot. Perfect point of focus and DOF, i like the unique composition too.

Lets talk about the photo.... Its great and very well presented. The use of shallow DOF works nicely. The whole series composed from a bee's point of view flows very well and fits right into the topic of this challenge. Great work! -Cat

Daniel has his own problems Matt, he signs all his shots. You carry on doing wot you enjoy mate as you only have one life, but before yours is over I hope you discover the joys of photography that require no bells & whistles or eye candy. Are you into scrap booking Matt? I know they like tarting shots up like this:-)

Thank you ALL for the welcome and comments. :-)

Rod,
No problem. If I can't take it I'll retreat to the "backslapper" challenge. :-))))
You and daniel (db.) must come from the same no-framing school. This is how I show all my photos online. I guess you two will have to get used to them. If a picture is very good the frame shouldn't matter. If it sucks the frame for sure won't matter... LOL

Matt.

I would like to second Rod's warm welcome. Nice shot and series.

Nice series Matt and very pretty shot here. I like the contrasting colors and the shallow DOF. You must have that great 100mm macro lens and you're doing a great job shooting with it too! :-) CJ

Nice and like this macro :)

No need to worry about the shadows and frames, :)
I used to do them til Rod yelled too much.... now I just do them on my own gallery. :)))

Three lovely shots Matt & welcome to the challenge mate:-)
I find the drop shadows & framing really spoil the look of your shots making it hard to take them seriously as photos. This sort of treatment is for graphic designers not photographers as they really look pretentious & showy. A photo should stand on it's own for judging. A simple not very wide border is all that's needed if you want to seperate from the background. I know you're used to doing this over at the backslappers challenge but we're a more earthy crowd here mate:-)
Great entry though Matt:-)
