Pops, the only way I get him to be in the photo was to promise you wouldn't see his face. And when he wouldn't wear the hat I suggested, the only way was to use shadows to block out his features.

A light touch with the BFL on your "bodyguard's" face might improve this picture. That's one of the things I like about long exposures - you can do a little painting with light.
