Debbi,

The Median filter will blur the images but keep the transitions between colors sharp. Try it and you will see what I mean.

I love this! I must admit I have never used the median filter...why use it instead of the normal blurs?

Great work Grant!
Didn't see your work here in a while. Welcome back!

Fly,

I just put her in a cab.

Nico and Elena,

Thanks for the kind words.

WOW!!!!Magnificent!!!!
It reminds me very much of work by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin of "child-like" dolls and "doll-like" children.
Never the less, a very good capture!!!

Then congrats on the beautiful shot of the borrowed kid. I hope she was returned. 8-)

Thanks, Grant, for the explanation. I was staring at this most captivating shot for a long time... but not sure that I could fully explain how it was done. I agree with Traveller's comment, namely that it seems nearly surreal. And the eyes are of course magnificent! Well done, Sir. Regards jnconradie

Fly,
You can congratulate me on a beautiful photo but this small person is not mine. I borrowed her from a friend.

Traveller,
I ran the median filter and then blurred it twice and erased the eyes, nose and mouth.

Nice shot and cool treatment. Are congrats in order?

Wow, this is very, very nice Grant....almost surrealistic...and you can see what looks to be a dirt road, of which I have some familiarity, in the left eye. How did you get the skin so....soft, so almost translucent...did you use any filters? Hummmmm...Best Wishes, Traveller
