Thanks, Sam, for the nice compliment. I would be delighted to do so, but seeing that most of the grapes are real, the sculpture - which is still standing on the desk in my study - is fast losing its appeal, both in terms of visual appeal and edibility :-) Thanks anyway. Regards jnconradie

If I were you Nico, I would keep this a wonderful sculpture. Lovely. Sam Attal

Another excellent image from you and your team Nico. Very well put together. I thought it was photoshop at first, had no idea it was clay (though I did wonder about the texture of the grapes when I first saw it). Clever! --Melanie

I've been past this a dozen times and meant to comment. It is one of Dali's typical bizarre but not extreme works. Excellent representation and a bunch of clever work to get those 'grapes' looking so good. ... Instead of PP you used BP... and I'm not talking about petroleum products!

Very skilful 'Team' another great post, professionally photographed. ~ Regards Melbob.

Fabulous Nico...... Great idea, great concept. I am sure we are going to see a lot of Dali inspired shots in this challenge.

Cheers, Vikas.

Thanks, Traveller. Thanks, Brent. It is really my better half - and Salvador himself, of course - who deserve the credit for this one. She came up with the idea and then used modeling clay (various colours painstakingly mixed) to form the "melting" grapes. These were individually glued to the glass. I shot it in a light tent with an off-camera flash pointed to the background so as to get it just about completely blown. I used a colour-replacement brush to get the clay grapes to match the real grapes more accurately, but no other deformation tools or post-processing of any significance. Glad you like it! Regards jnconradie

Very nice Nico, I had been thinking about trying something like this using an old pocket watch I have. I would have had to learn how to distort like this though. I'm also quite curious about how you processed this. Well done.

Nico, would you mind telling us how you did this, espcially the grapes on the rim?

Best Wishes, Traveller

I was going to say from seeing the Thumbnail that you can do better than that...but you did...lol...the subtlety of the melting of the grapes is delightful!

What a smiler this is.

Would you want to clone out the white spot on the glass or do you want it there?
Maybe also take down a tad the highlight on the top-most grape?

Your decision of course.

Best Wishes,

Traveller
