This is a composite.
The data displayed here is for the sunset.
The image of the bird was taken on 15th Jan 2006, with the same camera.
Thanks for the suggestion Adam. I had kept the layered file, so it wasn't hard to rotate the bird and wire (which hadn't previously occurred to me, I had always envisaged it with this composition).
I tried it with the wire horizontal and close to the bottom of the image, also with the wire sloping in the opposite direction.
Each had its merits, but the wire got lost in the clutter of the clouds, which I didn't like, so I think this is it, for good or bad.

Yes - I like this. SIMPLE IS GOOD.
My only thought though is that it is uni-directional, how hard would it be to try and get the wire going against the grain of the cloud?
Thanks Andy and Traveller.
This was a planned image almost from when this challenge was announced, but I'm a bit disappointed with the result and nearly didn't post it.
I think a softer, less busy sunset would have been better, but this was the only possible candidate nature provided during the challenge period.
Cheers
